The Alumni Challenge Race Partners with the V Foundation to Raise Money for Cancer Research

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Alumni Challenge will partner with the V Foundation for Cancer Research for the race on November 23.  The event will be held on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. at National Harbor and raise funds for cancer research.
The Alumni Challenge will feature a 5K, 25K Team Relay, 1 mile fun run and a virtual run option. The race is centered on representing your school or favorite collegiate team, while raising money to support the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Post-race, runners will be treated to a spectacular tailgate party with food trucks, local craft beers, music and gorgeous views of the Potomac River from National Harbor.
“We couldn’t be happier about our partnership with the V Foundation,” says Brett Tillett of Legendary Sports Group, who are the owners of the race.  “They are a strong national foundation with a mission to end cancer which is something everyone can get behind and support.  We hope the Alumni Challenge will be a great opportunity to fundraise and support their efforts.”
In addition to the race and tailgate party, runners will be able to fundraise for the Foundation and have a chance to win unique experiences.
“In partnering with the V Foundation we are working together, and with their partners, to offer some very unique prizes to our fundraisers and one-of-a-kind experiences,” Tillett continued.
The 2019 event at National Harbor will be the inaugural event with plans to grow the race into new markets in future years.
“The V Foundation is honored to be chosen to partner with LSG for the Alumni Challenge.  It’s a great way for people to form community to do good — and fighting cancer together is a great cause!  Every penny donated to the V Foundation funds life-saving research at major cancer centers across the country,” said Susan Braun, CEO of the V Foundation.
All runners will receive a race premium and 5K and Team Relay runners will be handed their finisher medals at the finish line.  Registration for the race is open and more information about the event can be found at
